Fort / Battery Klinci is a fortification from the times of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, located on the highlands of the Luštica peninsula. Neither the exact date of construction nor the armament is known, but we can say with certainty that it was at the end of the 19th century, around the same time when Fort Kabala and Fort Luštica were built.
On Google maps and in many articles it is stated that Klinci is a artillery battery, but taking into account that there are not only places for guns, but also barracks with living quarters, we can conclude that Klinci is a full-fledged fort.
Building description
Like other Austrian forts nearby in this area, the Klinci fort was part of the sector one of the Austrian defence of the Bay of Kotor, which means that its task was to guard the entrance to the bay. But unlike the defences mentioned above, the guns of Klinci were not aimed at the sea. Its main task was to cover the rear of the group of forts Lustica, Kabala, Arza and Rose, as well as to protect the coasts of the peninsula from landing from the open sea.
The fort consisted of a two-storey building, the approaches to which were covered by caponiers. The four guns were located on the opposite side of the entrance, surrounded by walls so that they could only be accessed through the corridors of the building.

As in other Austrian fortresses, a water tank is located on the lower, underground floor of the Klinci fort. It can be found near the entrance doors to the building and inside the building.
The remains of the toilet, which is located on the right side near the exit, as well as the passage to the first floor, are still preserved. It is worth being careful, however, as the ceiling between the first and first floor has already collapsed in many places or is clearly in disrepair.

Today any remains of the guns have been dismantled and the fort is abandoned. Therefore, anyone can visit it at any time.
